Description
WALKING STICKS Walking sticks help shift the load from your lower extremities to your upper extremities, improving mobility, balance, and stability while walking. Walking aids are sometimes also referred to as ambulatory assistive devices. A walking aid is one of several devices a patient may be issued in order to improve their walking pattern, balance or safety while mobilising independently. Walking sticks are height adjustable. How long should a walking stick be by height? In order to find the right height walking stick for you, measure from the bottom of the wrist bone (where the bump is), to the floor. This ensures your wrist is at the optimum comfort position when holding your walking stick, with the arm slightly bent and the shoulders level.
